Iain Moodie

Executive Chairman

Iain is the Chairman of Pinnacle, which he founded in 1992 with a group of fellow shareholders engaged in the legal, tax consultancy and accountancy professions. Prior to establishing Pinnacle Iain worked in the finance industry in Jersey for more than twenty years in trust company business and the accountancy profession, including a short spell as company secretary of a merchant bank.  He is responsible for the strategic development of the group and new business as well as overseeing a number of client and professional relationships.  Iain was educated at Strathallan School in Scotland.

Iain’s great passion is golf and the ultimate for him would be a round of golf in the sun at Loch Lomond with Rory McIlroy, Louis Oosthuizen and Henni Zuël!


James Wetherall

Managing Director

James was appointed to the board of Pinnacle in 2008 and took up the reins as Managing Director in 2013.  James retains responsibility for a number of client relationships but is also responsible for the strategic direction of the business whilst ensuring that we meet our operational and regulatory commitments.  James began his career in the local finance industry in 1994 after graduating from Birmingham University with a BSc Honours Degree in Geography. Prior to joining Pinnacle James worked for Deutsche Bank in their offshore private wealth management division. James holds a BSc Degree in Financial Services and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. 

Having played hockey for Jersey and the Channel Islands the ultimate aspiration would have been to win Olympic gold but realising you also need skill as well as endeavour (not to mention youth), he now enjoys the game at a more social level as well as being an active coach.  Away from the hockey field James might be found paddle boarding with his family in the beautiful St Brelade’s Bay.


Julian Griffiths

Julian joined Pinnacle in 2008 and was appointed to the board of Pinnacle later that year.  Julian attended Cardiff University and obtained a BSc (Hons) in International Transport before relocating to Jersey in 1997 to take a position with a firm of international accountants. After qualifying as an ACCA accountant he transferred from working predominantly within a property funds team to become involved in the implementation and administration of employee benefit trusts with a leading Jersey based law firm.  With Pinnacle Julian is responsible for a varied portfolio of offshore structures from family offices to property investment structures and consultancy arrangements.

Having participated in a variety of sports over the years, it is usually the squash club that he heads to after work.  Before becoming involved in a busy family life, Julian escaped one summer for a cycle ride to Spain and back and intends to return to Europe on two wheels to conquer the rest of the continent when time allows!


Kevin Jones

Kevin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996 and went on to specialise in capital taxation for individuals, trusts and estates. Seeking offshore trust tax experience he moved to Jersey in 1999. Initially he continued in taxation before entering the arena of fiduciary work in 2001. Apart from a period of 8 years with a hedge fund (2008-15), his focus has remained trusteeships & directorships with a predominantly UK centric client base and focus.  

Whilst enjoying scuba diving, squash and badminton and having achieved his recent goal of completing his first marathon in Chicago (2018), his next goal is to climb Aconcagua (standing at an altitude of 6,962m) in 2020.


Olly Parker

Olly has over 25 years’ experience in the offshore industry, having started his career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and going on to work for a number of multinational organisations including ANZ Grindlays (now Standard Chartered), EFG group, Abbey National (now Santander) as well as holding senior positions with private fiduciary companies in Jersey. Olly’s strengths are in private client and corporate relationship management having a background predominantly in the fiduciary world and experience in the funds and corporate services arena having sat on a number of fund boards. Olly has travelled extensively throughout his career having been responsible for clients located in East and Southern Africa, Mauritius, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Dubai and India.

Having recently completed his “half century” with the mantra “age is no barrier”, Olly’s goal is to visit and explore all 7 continents of the globe with South America and Antarctica still to be conquered.


Lesley Downie

Finance Director

Lesley joined the company in June 2008 as the group’s Financial Controller and was appointed to the Board of Directors on 8th February 2010. She qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1998 after training in the UK. She relocated to Jersey in 1999 and has worked in both the financial and commercial industries within the island. She has overall responsibility for the group’s and client entities’ accounting functions together with budgeting and financial management for the group.

Before Lesley joined us she was a keen traveller having visited many parts of the world but having a young family meant putting a hold on her adventures.  She still aspires to conquer Machu Picchu, although the trip would be with her two daughters in tow (much to their dismay).


James Parker

Client Manager

James first joined Pinnacle in March 2016 and then took a one year sabbatical to travel the world, returning to work for Pinnacle in July 2017 as a Senior Trust Officer.  James retains responsibility for a mixed portfolio of client relationships working within the group, reporting to the board of directors.

James began his finance career in 2007 working for a local independent trust company business. During this time James attained a Certificate in Offshore Administration and the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management. Most recently James completed a BSc Hons Degree in Management with Trusts and Estates through the University of Manchester. James continues to be ambitious in his career goals with an affinity to business development and building client relationships. 

James’ ultimate aspiration would have been to become a professional big mountain skier, although he now settles for occasional trips to the slopes with friends. James enjoys exercise and travelling and exploring new cultures and music. During the summer you will find James paddle boarding and surfing Jersey’s coast amongst other outdoor activities.


Yulia Gilson

Senior Client Administrator

Yulia joined Pinnacle in October 2010 having previously worked for three and half years as an accountant for one of Jersey’s leading building merchants. Yulia originally trained as a chef at Saint-Petersburg Cooking College, qualifying with an Honors Diploma. She then progressed to the Saint-Petersburg University of Economics and Finance and qualified with a degree in accounting and audit before starting her career in Russia in the service, retail and hospitality sectors.  Since moving to Jersey in 2007 Yulia has continued her career and professional development and is currently studying for her ACCA diploma. Yulia works in the client administration team and assists with the management of a mixed portfolio of company and trust structures.

Yulia has a passion for the Arts and Interior Design emanating from her influences from her home city of Saint-Petersburg.  She also keeps fit and active with boxing training.


Elisa Scarpa

Senior Client Administrator

Elisa has been working in the trust and company sector since 1998 having completed a BSC Honours Degree at West Sussex Institute of Higher Education (now Chichester University) in 1996 in Education and Religious Studies. Elisa is a member of STEP, holds a Diploma in Business Management and a Level 2 from the Chartered Management Institute. Here at Pinnacle, her role focuses on providing administration to a variety of clients and their mixed asset class portfolios.

Away from work, Elisa is a keen baker and animal lover and volunteers at the Jersey Animal Shelter at the weekends. Could we one day see her at Crufts or even in The Great British Bake Off ?


Emma Rayson

Client Manager

Emma has been in the trust industry since 2001 and started at Pinnacle in July 2016. Emma is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is currently studying with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Emma provides administration services with a focus on UK client structures.

Emma recently completed the “Durrell Dash”, a very hilly 13km run, raising funds for the Jersey Zoo. Her ultimate goal is to one day run a marathon.


Caroline Fry

Senior Client Administrator

After graduating in 1995 from Southampton Solent University with an HND in Business & Finance, Caroline took a gap year which was spent travelling and working as an au-pair in France. Her career in the finance industry began the following year with Abacus Financial Services before a move in 2001 to join a yacht management company providing general yacht administration and registration services. In 2007 Caroline returned to private client services joining Pinnacle in 2010 where she now provides a general administration service. She holds the Certificate in Offshore Administration.

Away from the office, Caroline is a keen sailor and has sailed a couple of times on board the Jubilee Sailing Trust's tall ship "Tenacious" crossing the English Channel. Caroline's once in a lifetime dream is to sail across the Atlantic Ocean!


Cayley Olwage

Senior Client Administrator

Cayley joined Pinnacle as a client administrator in 2016, having started her trust career in 2013 at another local trust firm.  Prior to that Cayley was employed in a large high street bank, working in both the retail sector and also as an assistant to the relationship directors in the corporate sector.

At present she is studying towards her trust qualifications and will be completing her final exam in October 2017, thereafter becoming a full member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Cayley’s ultimate aspiration is to complete a self-drive expedition through parts of Africa with her husband.


John Fitzpatrick

Client Manager

John moved to Jersey in 1990 and initially worked in the hospitality industry. While working in the industry John began his studies with a view to a career in the finance business and now holds a diploma with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries Association.

John has now been with Pinnacle for over 10 years, previous to which he worked for one of the biggest financial services providers on the island and so has experienced both the large corporate business along with the more boutique private client oriented side offered by Pinnacle.

On a personal note, John as an avid science-fiction enthusiast hopes that his fellow countryman, Michael O’Leary, is secretly working on plans for budget space travel to rival Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic so he can fulfil an ambition of venturing past the exosphere into space. Now surely that is the pinnacle!


Shelley Parker

Client Manager

Shelley has been working in the trust sector in Jersey since 2003, having previously worked in the international banking sector in South Africa. She has an ICSA Diploma and the ICSA Offshore Certificate. Shelley looks after a mixed portfolio of high net worth and family office structures but also has experience in the corporate arena.

Now that Shelley’s two children are grown up she has found time to complete the London Marathon, jump out of a plane and is now preparing for a hike up the Inca Trail.


Kerry Coombs-Goodfellow

Senior Client Administrator

Kerry joined Pinnacle in 1997 initially on the Secretarial side having been a medical secretary in the UK prior to moving to Jersey in 1996.  She moved over to client administration shortly after joining Pinnacle and completed the Certificate in Offshore Administration in 2002.   Following the birth of her first child in 2004 Kerry returned to work on a part time basis but still provides general support to the client administration team as well as working more exclusively on project based work.

Kerry’s ultimate aspiration would have been to represent England at badminton having competed in tournaments across the UK since the age of 11.  She hasn’t fallen far short though by representing Jersey at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester as well as winning a total of 7 gold medals at the Island Games.  Kerry still plays badminton occasionally but also enjoys squash and racket ball, keeping fit and activities with her family.


Katie Stewart

Senior Investment Administrator

Katie joined Pinnacle in June 2017 bringing with her over 25 years’ experience in the investment industry.  Katie, in a former life, provided investment advice at the “coal face” to both private clients and trustees within large institutions, such as NatWest Bank and the Royal Bank of Canada. Katie holds the Financial Planning Certificate and is an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.  

Prior to joining Pinnacle Katie was a senior investment supervision officer with Kleinwort Hambros. She now brings this skill set to Pinnacle where she will assist in the monitoring of investment portfolios and their investment managers, supporting the trustees and company directors in meeting their compliance and regulatory obligations.

Outside of work Katie spends her free time with family and friends, whilst embracing the challenge of “mentoring” her teenage daughter. She does however manage to fit in some ‘me time’ having taken up running a few years ago, an enjoyable legacy from successfully completing the Edinburgh Marathon.


Peter Green

Compliance Officer

Peter joined Pinnacle in January 2016 and holds the key roles of Money Laundering Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer at Pinnacle.

Peter was educated locally and apart from taking a year out to work in the City of London, has spent his career in the local finance industry where prior to the advent of Compliance, held Administration posts in Jersey based Trust and Fund Management Companies. Amongst his professional qualifications, Peter holds the ICA Diploma in Compliance.

Whilst believing there is no better place in the world to live and work than Jersey, Peter likes to travel and experience as much of the world as possible and having visited 35 countries and territories around the world, has the personal ambition to reach at least 70. Whilst accepting it is at the bottom of the planet his ‘pinnacle’ will be Antarctica although top and bottom is just perspective!


Jonathan Nobes

Jon has been working the finance industry since 1998. He joined Pinnacle in July 2018 as a Client Manager, having completed his graduate training at Abacus Financial Services Limited and subsequently working for Close Trust Company (Jersey) Limited, STM Fiduciaire Limited and Hawksford experiencing both large corporate institutions and more niche and boutique businesses. During his career, Jon has been a member of the board of directors for private client companies and for corporate real estate vehicles and multinationals and has worked closely with families, institutions and high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.

Jon has a degree from the University of Plymouth in History and Education, holds the Certificate in Offshore Administration and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Jon enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family and is a keen quizzer. He also enjoys visiting new places and expanding his horizons but no matter how far he travels, he will always regard Jersey as his home.
